KASHMIR

Kashmir were formed 19 years ago in Kopenhaagen, Denmark. By the release of this, their 4th album, they have reached platinum status in their home country. I have never seen anyone talk about these guys at all on these forums. They just released their 8th studio album.

Kashmir came to the spotlight in 2003 due to heavy exposure from MTV of their hit single Rocket Brothers and its grimly-themed animation video. After that, they had moderate success worldwide with their album No Balance Palace, with heavyweight collaborations of the likes of David Bowie and Lou Reed.

In 2010, they started a large tour through Latin America and now they really became massive, to the point of actually appearing in the best selling charts in Mexico with their release Trespassers (Considering the economic environment in Latin America in general), which may lead to many to ask themselves: Who the *** are these guys and why are they such a phenomenon?

Radiohead fans! you should listen to this!

Best Albums

1) Zitilites
2) The Good Life
3) No Balance Palace

Best Songs (if you want to give them a shot)
1) Surfing The Warm Industry
2) Rocket Brothers
3) The Cynic (feat. David Bowie)
4) She's Made of Chalk
5) Mom In Love, Daddy In Space

Hadn't heard of Kashmir before, but, hum, you convinced me, I'll give it a try right now.
The most underrated band ever is Os Mutantes btw.

Kashmir are a really good band. I have "No Balance Palace" at number 17 in my Top 50 albums of 2005 and "The Good Life" at number 12 in my Top 50 albums of 1999. My favourite track of theirs is "Jewel Drop" which is fantastic.

Oh, and if you want under-rated bands check out my chart. Too many to mention! 😄

I have a friend in Alkmaar who introduced me a few years back. It's a real shame he doesn't have a following elsewhere.
