- Post subject: Pet Shop Boys - Electric -- Possible album of the year?

One name that has been on nobody’s lips is the Pet Shop Boys.
Electric is one masterpiece of dance music. It's incredible what these 30 yrold veterans have archieved. With Co-Producer Stuart Price, they made a dance floor all time classic.
This guys deserve some respect

maybe not on lips, but sure on my list... After their last few albums, i had written them off into old age and uselessness, but damned if their new album doesn't hit some of the same giorgio-like highs as the new daft punk. i've read it on a few review sites, and i believe it's true: best pet shop boys since Very. Definitely worth a listen for those who obsess about exhausting all the best candidates for 2013's top albums..

I had basically ignored this since I was so disappointed in Elysium, and well, everything since Bilingual (which for me cemented that they were no longer relevant). I very much enjoy their 80s stuff.
Thanks for this thread, I'll definitely listen to this now, I might not have otherwise.

Agree with the "best since Very" comments. I was hugely disappointed in Elysium and its interesting how less than 12 months later they come back with an album that is the antithesis of that last album.
