This is thread is mentioned and talked about so much in many place on this site.
Some people like the beatles because of their unique sound.
I have to agree some lyrics'es of their songs are poor but some of them are great.
Musically I think they are good .
Some Other hate them because of their "pop" sound
Yes I agree they are too weak in deepness of the songs.
I Don't think they deserve to be no.1 but surely think they should be in the top 3 and even if you don't like them ,to me they are great. though I would give the Top place to pink Floyd or even Radiohead !!!
But I'd like to respect any opinion.and say what you don't like about the beatles.it is great to see the differences in tastes !
I'd say that if one band would ever deserve this position, it's Pink Floyd. They're the only band I know that can actually satisfy everyone. Even The Beatles can't. So for me, it's Pink Floyd.
But anyway, this thread is silly, it will bring back the objective/subjective problem again.
Why do people keep whining about this? It's been settled for decades. The Beatles are the greatest band of all time.
They may not be your favorite, or the best, but they're the most influential, and started so many revolutions in the music world it's impossible to name them all.
Thus, they are the greatest.
I'm not saying this as a fanboy. The Beatles aren't even in my top 20 favorite bands... but they are the greatest.
