Now this is a really tough question.
The first part of the album, has its own new Arcade Fire Mystic, starting with the lead single Reflektor. The next two songs(We exist, Flashbulb Eyes), even though I consider them good songs, they are the ones I like the least in the album. The first seems insignificant and the second one, it probably is the most original Arcade Fire song in the album, but still it lacks of that "something". The next four songs, are just perfect.
The second part, is amazing. Maybe a more oldish Arcade Fire sound, but it seems so new at the same time. Porno and Afterlife, are probably the perfect match in this album. My only question with this part is the final song Supersymmetry, that seemed way too long. I couldn't see the point of those 8 minutes of instrumental, which may sound lovely at times, but there comes a points the extra minutes become unnecessary.
My heart will go with the first part this time, but tomorrow I may choose the second part. Great album _________________ "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming"

Loving the album more with each listen, i'll answer simply that the first disc has more songs that i love than the 2nd, but i definitely appreciate the atmospherics on the 2nd. I migrate heavily towards the title track, "we exist", "normal person" and "joan of arc".
And for the added instrumental closing disc 2 -- i sort of think of it as a "secret song", a bonus track tucked in at the end that i really don't apply to my rating/feeling of the album as a whole. _________________ fav artists NOW | ALL-TIME favs | i listen 2 more music than u so u don't have 2!

Agree with meruizh. The second disc sounds more like "classic" Arcade Fire. As good as the first disc is, I loves me some old fashioned AF.

Because someone decided on a ten minute hidden track.
J Dilla's Donuts is a double album on vinyl for some reason My copy is like, 9-10 minutes on each side.

(in my opinion) Disc 1 is filled with cracking tunes, Disc 2 is pretentious bullsh*t. No prizes for guessing where my vote goes. _________________
