Here is something to think about in the form of a three-part question:

If you were marooned on a desert island and luckily you had with you your super-duper solar-powered MP3 player - which by the way was water proof - but in the process you discovered that only one album from your collection survived (ok, water proof but not crash-proof), which one would it be? (question #1) Now suppose that you have another choice: suppose that you can give up that favorite album of yours for a full collection of another artist's catalog; would you do it? (question #2) and if so, which artist is that? (optional question #3).

Remember, your solar-powered MP3 player will go on playing forever...

I don't really feel like thinking of specifics right now, but I would definitely give up my all time favorite album for my favorite discography.

Well, my favorite album is Animal Collective's Feels, but i'd give that up in a heartbeat for the discography of Brian Eno, Boards of Canada, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Aphex Twin, or The Microphones, just to name a few.

I'd definitely take an entire catalog over my favorite album. The Beatles would be my first choice, though the discographies of the Flaming Lips, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, and many others would still be preferred to just one album.

Would not give up my favourite album (I Could Live in Hope by Low) for a discography, would not give it up for all the albums in the world. Plus, I can't think of one discography I love every album in, at least not one made up of any more than a few albums.
I Could Live In Hope would keep me warm and hopeful and would make the emptiness of the island become a thriving world in my mind, especially at night time.
Like, can someone drop me off on a desert island with just the album? It sounds like an experience worth having, heh.

I don't want to be a pain but seriously Smile you have to pick only one. Remember your MP3 player survived but barely one album or one artist's collection is all that is left.

Album: X
or
Favorite Artist Collection: Y

Grrr, alright, if I can't choose Animal Collective, since they have my favorite album, I pick Brian Eno's discography.

1-what even is my favorite album? i guess i'll go with the number one on my chart, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love by My Chemical Romance (i am seriously going to have to choose another fav album, that one's too fucking long)
2- my taste is kind of volatile, so i'm not sure. mcr is something i can go back to repeatedly, but i switch around albums by them in terms of constant listening. so yes i suppose.
3- Andrew Jackson Jihad. i'd never get bored-- look how long their discography is gg.

Hey, what if the artist whose discography you have releases a new album while you're on the island? Does someone drop by your island and upload the files to your mp3 player or what? Like, you mysteriously lose the mp3 player for a while one day and then you find it and it has their new album on it. Laughing

You don't qualify anyway. You chose a favorite album. Smile
