Not quite sure where I'm going this thread. I guess it's just a general one to discuss trios. Maybe their work ethics, sound, maybe a certain look they're going for, etc, idk.

Oh sorry I missed them :/
I tried including a few bands that people might vote for but that I don't necessarily care for.

Minutemen, Soft Machine for their first two albums, Post-Peter Gabriel Genesis, Husker Du, Three Dog Night, Violent Femmes...
Out of those in the poll I'd take CSN

Haha damn. Maybe someone else should have made this poll. Of all those I've only heard of Genesis and Husker Du.
I have a question though. Do 3-piece bands have a distinct sound? Could you listen to one of them and guess that they're a three-piece band? Will the sound of a certain instrument be absent and jump out at you?

Taste, Manic Street Preachers, ZZ Top, can't vote on because I am not super familiar with thier stuff... does that mean they can't be the best, if the other's over-shadow them?
Anyways CSN needs the Y in my opinion. The rest are pretty amazing trios and all have a great sound, unique to them, kinda making this poll hard.

Low obviously make music that is both better and prettier than everyone else.
Oh and The Dirty Three, because look at their name.

Low, Dirty Three, and Red House Painters... I'm actually not sure if those are trios... they just sound like it.

R.E.M. did some pretty respectable stuff after Berry left - especially their rockier material.
