My first 2 faves:
Dude, try out Surrealistic Pillow, a psychedelic masterpiece!
Also, I'd like to include The Wilson Sisters of my mom's favorite band, Heart.
I dig some of the ladies in Rock. Obviously I really respect Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, .... But most of all the true goddess is KATE BUSH! Love her so much! _________________ -Ryan

This made me chuckle a little.
It's a little like someone naming off their fave rock guitarist, naming Jimmy Page and then someone saying "Dude, check out the solo on 'Stairway to Heaven'! Hell give a listen to Led Zeppelin IV in case you haven't heard it!"
Or someone saying "My fave rapper is Nas" and then someone says "Have you heard 'Illmatic'?"
I did make this thread a while back and there were a ton of good names that came up. You can try digging that up if you're interested in seeing it. _________________
The ladies are definitely a little under-appreciated on BEA, and I'm guilty of it myself.
Cocteau Twins, Sleater Kinney, Kim Gordon, Kate Bush, Carole King, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Vashti Bunyan, Kim Deal, Patti Smith and Fiona Apple are all legends. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
L7 comes to mind! fantastic, underrated, often unknown band.
I also kind of like Indigo Girls, Veruca Salt [not all-girl], Luscious Jackson, etc etc
also, everyone has forgotten this hard rock group called Fanny of the 70's. they were the first all-female group to release a record on a major label, and they're actually not that bad!
