I'll probably use this as an excuse to listen to I Could Live in Hope finally, though I confess it doesn't have much of a chance.

This. I only discovered I Could Live In Hope relatively recently, but it's an album I've been going back to loads. It's really lovely. That said, Surfer Rosa has been a favourite since forever, and there are only like four or five albums in this tournament that I would vote for ahead of it. A shame though, because I really am in the midst of falling in love with I Could Live In Hope.

I got mad respekt for Pixies but I simply never want to listen to them these days. On the other hand, there's an album from my top 50 from what has become one of my favorite bands this past year and a half. I vote Romney

Fuck. seriously? Both albums deserve to go much further. And no matter how I vote I feel like I'm killing off one of my favorite records. Vote goes to Surfer Rosa, but I Could Live in Hope is just as deserving.

I'm not happy with either of these albums going out in the 2nd round though.
