A lot of you, like me, would have heard their first songs on the car radio and tape/cd player played by your family. I'm interested to know what albums your parents and siblings played the most and which songs were your favourites as a kid. (exclude compilations)
op

Dad:
Waking up the neighbours- Bryan Adams (everything i do, cant stop this thing we started)
Not that kind- Anastasia (I'm outta love, cowboys and kisses)

Mum:
Bad- Michael Jackson (bad, the way you make me feel)
Stars- Simply Red (for your babies, something got me started)
Music box- Mariah Carey (dreamlover, hero)

Both:
Tango in the night- Fleetwood Mac (everywhere, little lies)
Return of the mack- Mark Morrisson (Return of the mack, get high with me)

Sister:
Crazysexycool- TLC (Waterfalls, creep)
En vogue- EV3 (whatever, dont let go)
Always and forever- Eternal (Oh baby i, just a step from heaven)

We didn't have a car radio/tape player and no one in my family listened to non-classical music (except for The Beatles, but even if we had some vinyls at home, I discovered their music on my own).

My earliest memories were soundtracks by my mother's collection of Beatles LPs on the turntable.
Mom: The Beatles - Rubber Soul (or pretty much any Beatles album)
-------
It's hard to pick an album to represent my dad. He mainly listened to classic rock radio.
Dad: The Who - Who's Next
--------
My older brothers were the one that really taught me about music and opened up my world of discovery.
Oldest Brother: R.E.M. - Murmur / The Pixies - Surfer Rosa
---------
Brother #2: The Beastie Boys - Check Your Head / Mr Bungle - Mr Bungle

My early music influencies (9-11 years ols) are my dad, mom ans older cousins.

Dad: I remember listening in the car to school or at home, to Dire Straits, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones. And thank god I did. It shaped my musical taste. Also a lot of AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen, Santana and Shadows.

Mom: My mom often listened to Roxy Music, Billy Joel, Enigma, Sade and Gabrielle. She's also a huge Madonna fan...

Older Cousins: my cousins shaped my teen years with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Ramones and Pixies.

Just a few examples. i was kind of lucky with the influences, at least i think so Wink
