So, what are you guys doing for Thanksgiving? I thought I'd start a thread on this before I go away tomorrow. As for me, I'm doing what I do every year. My family and I take a trip to my aunt's house in a small Pennsylvania town called East Strousburg, right near the Pocono Mountains. It's one of my favorite places in the world and it's what makes Thanksgiving my absolute favorite holiday. It's just a fantastically beautiful and nostalgic place that I've been going to since I was born. Who knows? Maybe I'll show you guys some pictures of the quaint little yellow house up there. Anyways, it also seems like a high point in my album listening. I always listen to at least four albums on the drive there and back. Also, on Thanksgiving Eve, I stay up all night in the tiny little guest room and listen to album after album all night. It's one of my favorite things to do and it's a tradition. Name some albums that you plan to listen to on Thanksgiving as well.
Here are some that I plan on listening to:

The Moon & Antarctica by Modest Mouse

Diary by Sunny Day Real Estate

Tonight's The Night by Neil Young

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground

Are You Sleepy? by The Gerbils

Music From The Unrealized Film Script D...or Control

The Joshua Tree by U2
And, as always:

In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel

Foxtrot by Genesis
Share your Thanksgiving plans and albums with me! It would be much appreciated! Have a happy Thanksgiving! Smile

Nice album selection. And have a great time at your favorite place in the world! Very Happy

I just got back from a Thanksgiving party at my cooking class (always on Wednesday) and people loved the deviled eggs I made with my mom. I only made one dozen eggs (that's 24 half-eggs). Next year, I'm making two dozen eggs. The party playlist had some music from Sufjan Stevens, Shins, and Jars of Clay. Holiday stuff. My friend's mashed potatoes and the turkey were the best parts.

Tomorrow's going to big, too. Might start the day off with some more Sufjan Stevens, and this might be my first Thanksgiving without cranberry crescent rolls in a long time. But there's going to be pumpkin caramel cake and the traditional pumpkin pie. Usual Thanksgiving stuff. And we might watch Dark Shadows which is next on the Netflix DVD list, or finish up the Lord of th Rings extended trilogy.

Hey. I know a good amount of you aren't American and don't celebrate thanksgiving, but I'd like to take this time to say thanks to y'all. I really love this site and love so many of you people like brothers and sisters. It's weird being here for a year almost I start to feel like I KNOW a lot of you and how you think and stuff. Whether that's true or not, whatever.
I'm thankful for this message board and forum we have. And I'm thankful for the fact I can always come here and talk music and other stuff and I can always expect to get new recommendations and insights into music.

Much Love, Ryan

"I celebrated Thanksgiving in an old-fashioned way. I invited everyone in my neighborhood to my house, we had an enormous feast, and then I killed them and took their land."
