It's basically an interactive graph that allows you to track the evolution of music genres, pretty cool tbh

Awesome, though confusing why Matisyahu is more important to Reggae/Ska to them than Exuma, Sublime, Madness, The Specials, etc ...

Yeah, it's not the most accurate. I've come across a few things that didn't seem right, but I don't think you'll ever get something like this to appease everyone

That's the exact problem with these things. The only real way to try and get them more accurate is to use sales stats and etc, but then how do you deal with Indie and stuff? Not to include stuff like Nick Drake or Joy Division that didn't really have IMMEDIATE impact so much as artists found them and then they got noticed.

Yeah, it's good for what it's trying to do, not what it actually is.

Pretty nice but we obviously see that the guys who did that wanted to promote artists like Nick Drake or Big Star, when these artists had a minor or zero influence at the time they were active.

Does that mean they're not worth including?

No no not at all ! They're both part of my all time favourite artists (both are on my Chart more than once) but as much as I love them and think they were way better IMO than most things that worked in the 70s, their popularity and influence began in the late 80s, early 90s. In the 70s they were practically not influential.
