Album: Moodeity
Artist: Mike Jourgensen
Label: N/A
Released: January 1st, 2014
Country: United States

I wouldn't call this my favorite album of the year, but I know I am impressed by it. The instrumentation is pretty well made with a hard rock(ish) feel to it at times and certainly can transverse across other similar genres, but what made me love this album so much is this guy's voice. I wouldn't say it always goes perfectly with the music, but it's so soothing and reminiscent of Sebadoh and Dinosaur Jr. type vocals (though I have a better comparison I seem to have forgotten it). Like I said, this album isn't going to be a perfect mixture of everything right; I'd even say that I'd take out the second and fourth track, but that's besides the point. Anyways, have a nice listening; hope you guys enjoy it!

If you can't find it, just PM me.

I listened to the tracks on his bandcamp here: http://mikejourgensen.bandcamp.com/

It's pretty good, and I see the Dino Jr connection, though it does come across as a weaker version of that. I'm also not sure I dug that short heavy metal excursion in the middle. Or that Green Magnesia track.

The page says "released December 2013" now. Not to seem rude with this correction. But I'm not sure Bandcamp is right. Either way, darn good choice, Happymeal! Very grungy. 😁

I get the Dino Jr. feel, but I also felt an automatic Nirvana vibe. More Dino Jr., though. And I find the fact that he did a grungy metal cover of "If I Can't" pretty funny. I never expected someone to go as far as to cover that for a metal album.

Hm, well it definitely started out strong. The first track (can't remember titles) was definitely my favorite. I enjoyed all the first four, really. After that it wasn't as great. I can definitely see the Dino Jr. comparisons. Nirvana not so much. I'm not sure how I felt about the last track. It was certainly interesting.

Anyway, it certainly caught my attention. Not in my top 5 of the year, but quite good overall. I imagine I'll return to it at some point. 75/100

I guess I'll say I didn't really enjoy it, I just feel like it didn't go anywhere, and it didn't really keep me interested. It wasn't awful though, I could see why others might enjoy it.

Actually i liked it well enough. I can see the Dino Jr. comparison. Nothing really stood out to me that i thought was particularly interesting. I might, but probably wont listen to it again. Just not really my jam.

The guitar-work on this album is awesome, I love it. However there weren't too many songs that really stuck out. It's still a pretty good album though, I liked it well enough.
