Anyway I concur with tekin and lethal. I don't actively dislike Petty, but he just sounds entirely bland to me. Also lethal, that's really cool. How did that dinner come about?

My girlfriend's dad organises a world music festival called Rhythmtree. A couple of years ago he was booked to headline, and we shared dinner at my girlfriend's house with him and his band. Had a chat with him over some chicken and a few cigarettes, was a cool guy.
Tom Petty is one of those artists that people like Jeff Tweedy, Gary Louris, Ryan Adams, and Jay Farrar idolize so there's a lot to actually like about Petty. While I wouldn't call anything off Damn the Torpedoes, Full Moon Fever, or Wildflowers bland, personally. It's a tough matchup, but I might just vote for Petty since he seems a bit at a disadvantage here.
