Interesting matchup. Was aware of one or two tracks by Drexciya, and I actyually liked Neptune's Lair very much, more than the tracks I vaguely remembered. But The Orb's album, too, was better than I thought, I felt sure I was going to listen to the extraordinary Little Fluffy Clouds and then some filler - not at all, brilliant ambient house, such a chill downer.

I'd probably rate both albums more or less the same, around the 'very good' mark; bonus point for The Orb because those fluffy clouds were the soundtrack to a beautiful summer way back when. The Orb then, but I'll delve deeper into Drexciya.

24 hours' notice (although doubt that's going to make the slightest bit of difference...)

Drexciya is great but The Orb are pretty beloved so it's not shocking to see em knocked out. But hey there's sort of a second chance there with the Other People Place

a little late here... just wanted to say I love both of these and it's a damn shame a detroit techno classic had to face this powerhouse as early as it did
