I much prefer the New Order songs, they are much more upbeat and interesting in my opinion. Great beats and synths on the New Order tracks, 'True Faith' is a personal favourite, from memory one of the most bizarre videos from the eighties.

One of only three albums I have bought as a MP3 through the 'Apple Store' To be clear, I love the album but detest the fact that there is no album cover to hold and absorb while listening. Most annoyingly, the MP3 seems to needs to be bloody well re-downloaded from the frickin 'cloud' even though I have bought it! What is that all about, I am not buying any more from the frickin Apple Store! Superb album which I will attempt to buy on a more tactile platform. Sorry about the rant!

It is quite apparent that when it comes to Coldplay, there are a group of people who hold the first four albums in such high regard that everything that followed is second rate. I am not in that camp, in fact I started with Music of the Spheres which I thought was excellent. A word which really irritates me when it comes to albums is 'filler'. As a musician myself, there is no such word in the musical world, filler is something I use before I decorate a room. No musician sets out to write a piece of music just to fill time on an album. With all that off my chest, I think this is a very good, vey musical album with a great use of atmosphere, something Coldplay excel at.
