This chart will closely follow Dylan's songwriting chronology, beginning in January 1965.
Once I have listed between 1- 3 cover versions of a particular song by lesser known/unknown USA artists, I will move onto the next song in Dylan's chronology for which a cover version(s) are available.
This particular chart covers the period January 1965 'Bringing It All Back Home recording sessions' to May 1966 'UK Concert Tour', including unreleased songs or outtake songs which were later released on the Bootleg Series of albums.

Dylan recorded 'If You Gotta Go, Go Now' in January 1965 during the first 'Bringing It All Back Home' session but it did not make the album cut - it was eventually released on the 1991 'Bootleg Series Vol 1 - 3: Rare & Unreleased' album.
Despite not being 'officially' released for over 25 years, there have cover versions by 35 artists including a no.2 UK hit in late 1965 for Manfred Mann and a chart hit for Fairport Convention in 1969 - intriguingly, with the lyrics sung in French.
