Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 88.9/100, a mean average of 88.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.3/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.9.

Few songs have ever effected me emotionally and spiritually like this song. Musically and lyrically the apex of this era of music.
If you dont feel a tear listening to this your not human.
Amazing song amazing lyrics and amazing chord progressions. Great vocal delivery among the best on the album. The trumpet finally works in the arrangement and a brilliant instrumental.
I effing love this track. You've just sat through a masterpiece, then this last track you get that bit in where it changes and they somehow manage to up things. Incredible lyrics and at times near the end he even sounds like Scott walker.
This song definitely has my favorite lyrics of all time. As an example:
"Everything I've seen needs rearranging
And for anyone who thinks it's strange
Then you should be the first to want to make this change
And for everyone who thinks that life is just a game
Do you like the part you're playing?"
Arthur Lee truly believed that he was going to die when he penned these words. This song is the obituary that he wrote for himself, it's a letter to the entire world. In it he reminds us all that life is short and that we need to be the positive change that we want to see in the world.
Lee and his band were critiquing the hippie movement with this entire album, yet in this last song he shares the same message as a hippie would, but it is conveyed in a much more grounded and realistic way.
This is the best way you could possibly close an album
Perhaps: Lee's mini rock-opera? It pulls together all the wayward threads on what has been rightfully viewed as the peak of Love's first era.
One of the best album closers ever.
Given a greater pathos after Lee's passing on.
Wonderful arranging. Lee's vocals are sharp, but wry.
I was fortunate to see Arthur and Baby Lemonade tackle the 'Love legend' in an out of the way date c. 2000 or so. Portland OR.
They NAILED everything they assayed. No museum curating that night. Still one of the best gigs I've ever witnessed
The best track on the best album that I've ever heard.
Good track
Great composition of music. Impressive, big sound.
