Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 84.4/100, a mean average of 84.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 85.0/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.1.

Another great track. But as with other tracks on this album, the singing is not up to par.

A very catchy pop song in terms of what a catch pop song might be to KC. A great hooky opening with a melody by Wetton that everyone can sing along with. Snappy lyrics paint an interesting picture and Bruford pounds away on the drums. But the build during the solo stands out in my head. The way it starts out simple by Bruford on some cymbals while Cross holds it down on the moog. Fripp begins his single line solo that slowly builds with the rest of the band as the cacophony of sound grows.

A fun number with plenty of hooks, great vocals and an amazing Fripp solo. It's also a great live piece that you can find countless versions of.
