Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 86.9/100, a mean average of 85.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.4/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 14.5.

A very unique and imaginative band that put out a lot of great records in the late 60s and early 70s. Robert Fripp should surely be recognized as one of the most influential and talented songwriters of all time!
Some prog rock heavyweight
1. In the court of the crimson king
2. red
3. Lark's tongue
loved by everyone for good reason
XXI Century Schizoid men
Rightfully one of the prog big six, but really like different bands over time with variable results.
One of the greatest bands ever, I'd say. Their influence seems to have extended further than any of the other bands labeled "Progressive Rock" with the exception of Pink Floyd, but I feel like Pink Floyd was different from all those other bands and more like spacey blues rock. Anyway, part of the reason I like them personally is because they could get extremely experimental and abstract throughout all their different incarnations but they always hold my attention extremely well in spite of this.
Highly imaginative, a visionary band. Only flaw may be the inconsistent line ups (makes their identity questionable)
I would have liked to see the original line up endure at least 4 years more.
ITCOTCK is my favorite album of all time. I would rate the band a 100/100 probably if it wasn't such a pain in the ass to listen to their albums. I have no problem with buying albums I enjoy and want to support the artist, but not being able to find a sample of a song anywhere makes me not want to support Fripp. If he wasn't such a grumpy old man and allowed streaming I'm sure he would make more money in the long run because then people like me who like an album will buy a physical copy for their collection. Fripp really expects people to pay 30-50 bucks for an album they've never heard before, its ridiculous.
Alway in progress. Reinvent themselves in each decade. An example of risky band
Robert Fripp, after Zappa and maybe Gilmour, is my favorite Guitar player. Adrian Belew is pretty close.
If you don't include Zappa or Floyd as progressive rock. The best is King Crimson all the way Yes and Jethro Tull round out Top 5
