Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.4/100, a mean average of 88.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.5/100. The standard deviation for this track is 9.7.

Creative, fun and epic! I love the texture of Greg's guitar work here, sounds so good and so tasteful, probably David Gilmour got some inspiration from here, I hear in "Echoes" some of that inspiration if that is indeed the case.

A progressive rock masterpiece and a strong contender for ELP's finest song. Finally a cohesive moment where everything gets to shine–Emerson's keys, Lake's vocals and guitar, esoteric yet engrossing lyrics, all while the running thread of a freakin' armadillo tank makes up the background story. It's weird, and it's wonderful. I like all of it, but I think the opening Eruption and Stones of Years segments are my very favorite.

Truly one of the greatest pieces within progressive rock, outdone only by Supper's Ready and Close To The Edge!

The most accomplished piece of music ive ever heard, along with The Beatles' A Day In The Life and King Crimson's Starless the only track I'd give a perfect score.
