I didn't know who Roy Acuff was before I heard this song, but Jeff Tweedy convinced me that I should. While I think the sentiment, "Play me a song that everybody knows / And I'll bet you it belongs to Acuff-Rose," is a bit of an exaggeration, Tweedy rightly draws our attention to one of country music's great pioneers. And there's some fine fiddle work by Max Johnston on this one.
