A tremendous protest song which was inexplicably highjacked, mainly by right wing politicians, when the song portrays a disillusioned Vietnam veteran's alienation after the war.
This version, I’m led to understand was recorded in early 1982, at Springsteen's home in Colts Neck, New Jersey during the long session that constituted most of the Nebraska album released later that year.
