I never vibed with his music, but he's an icon.
The Boss
Bruce is obviously criminally under ranked on this site. He (especially when accompanied by E Street) belongs in the top 20 for sure. I suspect that his outspoken political views have turned off many who disagree with them...I personally wish he'd had stuck to what he's great at, but I don't let that affect my love of his work.
The day I heard "Born to Run" as an 18 year old - my world changed (forever, and for the better).
Some great, great songs and albums. And I love that rough voice.

I've always thought Born to Run is fantastic, and really enjoy The River, Tunnel of Love and Born in the USA. Saw him a couple of times in the 1980's but haven't kept up with later stuff.

Lyrically brilliant, backing band very proficient but the vocal is often mumbled and the songs themselves sound unimaginative and stilted. Apparently amazing live, but his recorded work is uninspiring.

His best song is Streets of Philadelphia. The boss is really the Boss he is the best Boss ever.
