What an amazing song
True to Moz and Marr's mid-century nostalgia, this is quite possibly the most theatrical Smiths' song, with its two-minute piano introduction and a composition that is so hopeless, it's hard to believe that it could be tongue-in-cheek like a lot of Smiths lyrics.
At the same time, it is absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking. Moz's wolf-like wailing in the last two minutes of this one might be my favorite vocal moment of his career.

This is truly the guiltiest of guilty pleasures. An indulgence of self pity that certainly earns the rank of one of the most dramatic songs of all time.
