Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 91.6/100, a mean average of 90.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 13.8.

Such an underrated tune love it so much
For all intents and purposes, I understand why people like the song so much, butI always found it to be a blemish on the face of an otherwise flawless album.
The guitar opening is very disorienting and strangely put together and Thom's vocal delivery sounds very tired and dirge-like. The entire song could be described as a bit of a dirge. The melody never changes and it ends about the same way as it begins.
As I said, however, I do understand why people like it. The lyrics are some of the best on the album, perfectly capturing the essence of the human mind. It very intricately describes the low-life boring people that don't have anything to live for and find their whole existence to be a let down. In that regard I applaud the aong very much, but musically it is really forgettable.
Perhaps it's a grower, who knows?...
I'm absolutely obsessed with this song right now. I recently read that this album was recorded in a mansion, and this song specifically was recorded in a ballroom at 3am... Ever since I've read that, whenever I hear the opening I can just imagine them set up in a ballroom playing this song... Why does it fit so perfectly? The atmosphere is just amazing and it totally fits that. To have been a fly on the wall during the recording...
Such a great song!!!

The most beautiful song Radiohead ever pulled off
Two time the Thom!
Fantastic song, one of the few songs on OKC that deserves its rating of over 90.
Such a sad but sweet song and I know this description doesn’t sell the song very well but it’s just so good yet so simple!
Let Down is from start to end grabbing you by the throat. This is for me the pivotal song of OK Computer.
Upon first listen of the album, on the day of release, I simple loved the first four songs, but Let Down transcended me to a higher level of consciousness. What a song.
