Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 83.3/100, a mean average of 83.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.1/100. The standard deviation for this track is 14.1.

This is a great opener to the Wind & Wuthering album. Phil's drumming is excellent as are his vocals throughout the track. Tony's keyboards are sweeping and majestic. This is one of my favourite Genesis tracks.
Leave it to Genesis to make what is essentially a British history lesson quite interesting. The introduction to their final true prog album, Eleventh Earl of Mar is highlighted by Banks work with the keyboards and synthesizers, especially in the stomping verses, though Collins certainly shines too with some excellent drumming and great vocals. At this point, Genesis had a pretty outstanding track record for album openers, and while Eleventh Earl of Mar isn't quite of the same caliber as The Musical Box, Dancing with the Moonlit Knight, Watcher of the Skies and other incredible songs, it's a worthy introduction to Wind & Wuthering as well as one of the album's highlights.
This is my favourite Genesis track of them all. Many people criticize Phil Collins for the chart-topping music he made in the 80s but there's no doubt in my mind that he was the leader of an amazing band beforehand. It can't be helped if he had loftier ambitions than making best-selling albums and being a highly respected Prog-Rocker. That's human nature...
