As someone who fell way too hard for an anorexic, I took this song very literally at first. Withering and withering she was. Now I can see it for what it actually means, but the dual meaning for me only makes it all the more incredible.
This song is the 399th highest rated track of all time on this site right now, which is great, but I really feel that it should be in the top 50. (Edited)

This is my absolute favorite song of all time. It's heartbreaking, honest, devoid of irony, and deeply meaningful. That kind of song is hard to come by, and to do it this well is rare, and I can't help but love this one.
One of my least favorite songs from Bon Iver.
It's still a GREAT song, and this may be from repeated listens, but it's rather "old" for me. (Edited)
