Probably my favourite of the album, that viola is just amazing.
As soon as the song begins, I feel as though I've just walked into a Middle Eastern opium den. I'm greeted by a leather-clad woman who's holding a whip in one hand and a syringe in the other.
So much going on, from the viola to the ostrich guitar to the BDSM lyrics. Awesome and wierd at the same time!
Such an harsh song, the Velvet Underground always perfectly knew how to create sounds that fit the subjects they sing about.
Velvet puts a lot of scary-sounding chords in the background, and it sounds really unique and beautiful. One of my favorites off the album.
How this is rated lower than Sunday Morning is beyond me.
I thought this was a song about M&S and the leather sale they had on. Seem to remember this over a weird car advert, made by the bloke who later did American History x
Mildly disturbing, but that's the intention for a song about S&M. Great song!
I was walking back home from school yesterday, and this song started playing on my cellphone. I don't know what it was, but it just seemed I was walking in slow motion in the middle of a war. Fuck, that was the greatest thing ever! Looked like the song got me high.
Not bad, not bad. Droning on in a fairly psychedelic way, and one of Reed's most intriguing vocal deliveries.
