Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 88.4/100, a mean average of 87.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.4.

This is a stunning track.

Well, we’ve arrived at the closing number. We had a near 20 minute opus of an epic and a chillingly beautiful ballad. What else is the band to do to close out Close to the Edge? Prog funk of course.
This song features one of my favorite Yes riffs. The whole band plays a part in making it move and groove. It’s catchy and quirky and everything that made classic Yes so fantastic.
That groovy bassline!
Very sophisticated rock song. Great guitar licks opening the song before diving into the meat of the track. I love the interplay between Rick Wakeman on keys with Steve Howe on guitar. The interplay between the two seems to have influenced Gentle Giant and they have added some great tones and sounds to their instruments. Great writing overall by the band, I really enjoy the quick, poppy verses and how the chorus slides down into a cool mellow groove. A great end to a fantastic album!
