Anthemic; with this opening track, David Cook proves to set himself apart from previous Idol contestants' cookie-cutter pop music careers. While not quite spectacular on a compositional level, Cook's robust voice stands out in the soaring chorus of this piece. And the message to his fans, demonstrative of his thanks of their support and of his capability to write his own songs, seems veracious enough; that he placed this piece as the introductory track was smart, to prove from the onset of the album that this is his personal original content, that he is multidimensional and not bound to the mass-production that is the Idol conglomerate.
