Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. A dramatic choral (no lyrics that is) and instrumental piece. Almost Stravinsky like (especially say around the 2 min mark). Mellows out and a swirling keyboard synth flows and leads right into the final track, Genesis

I think this is what the "Dawn of the third Day" theme in TLoZ Majoras Mask came from. Sounds pretty similar at least.
