Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.2/100, a mean average of 78.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.8.

There are some very good moments on here. The best track is Day After Day and some of the instrumental pieces are excellent.
It is odd that Alan Parsons Project rarely appears in Progressive music charts. This album can equally rival some of the Prog heavyweights. Let's not forget, this guy was instrumental in helping shape that Pink Floyd Prog sound. 'I wouldn't want to be like you' is a personal favourite.
It’s epic! 👏🏻
This is a good album but not one that I really get drawn back to frequently nor is it a record that blows me away when I listen to it. With that being said, there are some brilliant moments on here and the atmosphere the artist creates is extremely unique and feels very techno. The songs are slow and progressive and most of them do reach a very satisfying conclusion. The sound quality of the record and the production is fantastic and the music feels so smooth and it is so easy to glide through the tracks. What is missing for me is those songs that would go beyond being very good and without those the record is kept back. It is too slow at times as well and a few cuts feel unnecessary. Overall, an enjoyable record where I can see the appeal and I do appreciate the music a lot but it just isn't that impressive in my opinion and doesn't stand out against the competition.
Incrível álbum! Melhora a cada escutada!
I think all of the alan parsons project's albums are really underrated in here and i don't know the reason, but anyway, if you are a type of person who loves concept albums, you definitely should listen to this. Rest in peace Eric Woolfson.
The perfect blend of Prog and nostalgic 70's melodies
95/100
What an album!!!, emotional songs and ambient music, think the guys who ranked this low only listen to Rap or Punk
Impressive album, my favourite by the Project. The lengthy, instrumental title track/opener stands out particularly, with its funky, synth-disco. I also particularly like the male/female duet of "Some Other Time", Peter Straker(a close friend of Freddie Mercury's) and Jaki Whitren, up there with Phil Lynott and Julie Covington on "The Spirit of Man"(Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds).
A sonic masterpiece and an absolutely amazing album. Immerses you right away with the funky title track, transitions from song to song seamlessly, and remains fantastic until the end.
