Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 4% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 82.1/100, a mean average of 85.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 85.6/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.2.

Literally wasted time. Poor Steven Adler. I guess in his case GN'R really was the most dangerous band in the world. It's not a small miracle that they didn't end up all dead prematurely - apart from Axl of course.

Corny but undeniably emotional song and even more so when you know it's written about Adler who was just this simple happy-go-lucky California dude who needed to be loved badly and who filled the void in his life by succumbing to drugs - just like so many rockers before and after him.

When Adler these days says doing drugs and banging groupies was what expected of him, I kinda tend to believe he's being sincere. But if you're too dumb for your own good then I guess that's just the cross you have to bear.

I'm of course glad that despite all he's still alive and still banging his drums even though on a personal leveI I couldn't honestly care less.

For me GN'R effectively ended around 1991 and personally I feel people should just come to terms with the fact that GN'R belongs in the annals of rock history. Period. They had a great run that everybody wishes would have ended on a satisfactory note. But it wasn't to be.

I have fond memories of GN'R which I don't want to ruin by watching some old bloated and balding ex-rockers trying to relive their halcyon days for "one last time".
