I think a lot of people are missing just how atmospheric this song is. The first 2 minutes are one of the best parts of the album, but the improv (which fits in with all the other trailblazing musical ideas on this album) is a very atmospheric, natural piece that sets a mood of tranquility.
I like to think of it as the calm before the storm that is The Court of the Crimson King. (Edited)

Two minutes of great music followed by ten minutes of nothing.
It does what it tries to do brilliantly, but it is definitely the lowpoint of the album. (Edited)

This track is a pretentious mound of garbage on an otherwise incredible album. 8 minutes in I'm like why is Crimson making me listen to this? ...omg staaahhp.
