I'll just say that this website has helped me a lot with music and I'll figure out why so few are getting on my overall chart later. |
I only have 6 (possibly 7). Thought there'd be a lot more than that. ๐

I jest. I don't accept cheques. |
You've furthered my interest in rap so I should thank you, but I can't give you money so if you agree we should meet for my wetwork favours.

B:NO, Judas Priest is NOT better than Metallica. Based upon my collection it's Metallica 3 vs Judas Priest 0.

You've done some digging.

BEA has been wonderful, and often it's influence extends beyond even finding great albums. I especially love the community here, there's a particular closeness here I don't find with other ratings-based websites, even if at times it, yes, can feel cliquey to new members. I think the best advice to become part of the clique is to just get involved, and don't take any criticisms of your musical taste as a personal affront, that's going to happen everywhere. Better to just try to be as eloquent in defending your favorites as possible, rather than just get indignant and get all personal if your favorites are attacked.
And yes, while Purple's sass may be misinterpreted as animosity and it's often tough to tell if his torch-speech is inteded to be facetious. However, he's just here to help, to get you out of your musical-listening shell as well as providing the element of surprise in the forums with his often dark sense of humor. However, for the sake of all that's decent DONT let him suggest any google search numbers.

I remember when I first found BEA. I saw the overall chart and remember saying to myself, "What the fuck, an album from the 90's?" All I knew of Radiohead at the time was "that band in the episode of South Park."
I still haven't listened to enough music yet to consider myself an expert by any means, but I'd like to think I've made a lot of progress and will get there someday. BEA definitely helped with that.
