YEP!
Haha.
The thing about Kristian Mattson is despite the fact that his sound is seemingly extant in many places, I honestly have searched long and hard to find musicians that convey what he conveys musically. Like in terms of a extroverted, passionate, deft guitar playing, folk musician. Dylan is the closest, by not even he had the same vibes. My search continues.... I just think TMOE has a very distinctive personality. I always feel good an almost understood when I listen to his abstract words and earthy music. _________________ -Ryan

I've never heard anything like him. Between the emotion in his voice, his songwriting and his guitar playing, I've never heard anything like it. "Love Is All" is one of the most beautifully, emotionally sung songs I've ever heard. That and "There's No Leaving Now".
And man, "Little Brother", what a song. When he sings "Why are you drinking again little brother?" you can just hear it in his voice, it's gorgeous. _________________ Progressive Rock

fuck yes! I agree that is so touching. His voice stirs so much there. I'd say the song "Like The Wheel" is another example of utter greatness. The whole song sounds so damn intimate and beautifully sad. Like heart-achingly sad.
I'd say my fave songs of his are, in somewhat order, "Criminals", "Love Is All", "Drying of the Lawns", "Like The Wheel" and maybe "Thrown Right At Me". His 2010 output was impossibly good. And everything else is stellar, I mean STELLAR too.
In terms of naked emotion in his music, another example is in the incredible song "Thrown Right At Me" when he sings " That's why...you're so beautiful now." the amount of love and tenerness contained in that one line is overwhelming!
I see that that EP has only us as favoritists (made up word...). _________________ -Ryan
