Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.1/100, a mean average of 72.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.7.

Not sure if I agree with Cargusbralem about whether Muse have bounced back, but I will say this is probably my favorite album of theirs since The 2nd Law or maybe even The Resistance. I didn't have high hopes, but even the song with Ellie Goulding was solid. Looking forward to more Muse to come! (Edited)

I honestly thought Muse's career was in freefall after the trajectory of their last few albums, but they really turned things around with this one. I really enjoyed it, and I'm glad they've bounced back. They might be past their absolute peak, but this album gives me hope for their future again. (Edited)
Three excellent songs, the rest is pretty much on par as their post Resistance output, though I'll say that even Drones and 2nd Law are overall better albums for me than this one. But still, Dark Forest, Cryogen and Hexagons are worth hearing, classic Prog Space Electronic Rock from these guys. Matthew Bellamy makes me mad as hell because he can obviously still wrtie an excellent tune, but for some reason chooses not to, maybe madness?
Another great album!!!!
One of the greatest bands of all time!!!! Great guitarist. (Edited)
