  • Quote
Hi,

I was just wondering who decides which albums you can search for and find on this site? Does it HAVE to appear on someone BEST EVER list for it to be searchable? I couldnt find a number of albums to add to my "collection", and then stumbled across "Chris Cornell - Unplugged in Sweden"....... which isn't even an official release??? It's a bootleg that Cornell gets no proceeds from.

How do I get albums that are official releases, that aren't on here, in my collection?

Thanks for your time and help 😄

It does have to appear on someone's chart to be searchable. Therefore if you want all your collection on the website, you might have to add them yourself. This is a bit of a pain but if you have a great album, add it!

How does one add an album? Or a band for that matter?

You can add new albums from the 'my chart' page (you can include any album that you want, you are not restricted to albums that are already on the site).

To respond to somebody earlier in the thread, the aggregated stats help people identify trends, but this does not disallow some people from including obscure albums that other people might not be familiar with, hence the Chris Cornell album.

This site is not a database of all albums that have ever been released, we more exist to help surface the *best* ones.

Can you add bands? I noticed one of my favorite ambient bands is not included on the site, and I'd very much like to change that.

When you add a new album to your list, if the band is new to the site as well, it will be added at the same time (i.e. add a new album to the site by a band that doesn't exist yet.)
