Yikes. Hank defines early country music, but I'm voting Fahey in pretty much any matchup he sees. He was truly something special, and beyond his own music, he did so much for unearthing great folk music that would have been lost in time.

Both are artists I like a lot and respect immensely; neither are artists that I truly love. Going Hank Williams because I enjoy his music more but, as meccalecca alluded to in another thread, matchups like this, the Nas vs. Kate Bush one and the Moondog vs. Marvin one seem massively unfair in the face of matchups such as Ty Segall vs. Kacey Musgraves.

Yeah. All of my nominees are meeting ridiculously tough match ups too.

Cale vs Eno
Moondog vs Marvin
East River Pipe vs Lennon
and soon Leonard Cohen vs Waits. That's the one that's gonna kill me.

Yeah, I like Fahey. I love hank. He embodies something huge for me and many others. It's unfortunate though than either of these giants should fall in first round.

Well East River Pipe is already through, I think Moondog has a good chance and the last one could go either way. I've got to watch as my favourite artist goes out to Sufjan Stevens.

I wouldn't be too sure. I love Age of Adz but still might give my vote to Ghostface based on his consistent greatness

Voted Fahey but both are pretty big favourites for me. Frustrating choice.

Gotta go with Hank. I like Fahey's work, but HW was one of the best songwriters in the world before he died.
