Kind of a mixed bag, some great songs and some not great songs. The slower tracks bore me a little, but overall it's pretty good. This makes me want to learn french.

Okay so this is really good. I've listened to it quite a few times now, and "Eight Cut Scars" particularly is a fucking cathedral of hot wired nerves. I found myself DANCING TO IT believe it or not.

I listened to this finally and it charted on my 2014 chart, so you can tell I actually really liked this. I love the way the album starts going even though it’s obviously part of the post-punk influenced indie rock shtick that I’ve gotten real bored of but thankfully this record does it pretty damn well (reminds me when I was into like !Forward Russia! and similar acts only a few years ago. Frantic, cool guitar things going on, and finds itself being pretty interesting at the same time.

I actually quite enjoyed this, though it has the same problem I have with post-rock related records (it’s post-rock right?) in that I really didn’t get immersed in the soundscapes on the first listen. Very few records of this style “hit” me on a first listen basis as they usually need a lot of time to cook for me to really get into them. I still liked it, but I’m not sure how I feel about it. Though my stream was missing a track, so there's that; but I'll pursue it more soon for sure.

Can’t say I expected to start my day with some wailing grindocre, but it is Bong after all. Just finished this a few moments ago and I have to say it’s exactly what I’d expect from a quality release from the genre—didn’t let up until it ended and it’s certainly better than the other 2014 grindcore release I’ve listened to (Gridlink’s ‘Longhena’) so that’s a big plus. This was pretty great and I think it’ll chart on my personal ’14 list.

I loved this album, it's really sexy, very groovy, very chilling, very... latin. I can see myself coming back to this in many mornings of my life, seriously. By the way, do you know any artists similar to this?

This was probably the most interesting thing thrown my way… in a while. I’m not sure if I have the proper understanding to explain in depth what I liked about this record. Is this what all Vanguarda Paulista sounds like? If so, it’s definitely something I need to explore immediately. Love the overtones of jazz, afrobeat, etc.—really raw, really organic sounding and never fails to be interesting. Good find.
