A huge divergence (and expansion) of his sound and style and is very very welcomed. Think David Gray meets the Velvet Underground. This one, like most of his albums, is great front to back.
Supernova, sees Ray Lamontagne expanding his musical pallet. Produced by the Black Keys Dan Aurbach, it still features his grizzly rustic outdoorness but adds new sounds, including psychedelia, sounding not unlike Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd at times. A very good record.
