Years before Robert Johnson reportedly went and sold his soul at the crossroads, this man (as well as Tommy Johnson at almost the same time) apparently did. Peetie was great! Consider him the original total blues rebel, talking sex and devils and wild things. And though the chops aren't up to par with a lot of his contemporaries in the east coast or even the delta, there is a cool and sly and wicked attitude prevalent in these recordings that I can't help but love. Love this! _________________ -Ryan
