Going Syd Barrett here. The Madcap Laughs is my #3 album, and all of his albums (even compilations) have made it onto my charts somewhere.

I know Syd Barrett has a reputation as a revolutionary maverick genius, but I just don't see it at all tbh. Hecker is one of my musical heroes. Harmony In Ultraviolet could easily be my besteveralbum on a good day.

"genius", I know; "maverick", maybe; but "revolutionary"? Where did you get that from?

Hecker has been creating some phenomenal post-apocalyptic soundscapes, but Syd's been a favorite since I was just a little lad. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

Hmmm, two artists I like but wish I liked more. I appreciate each of them as artists, and they both have works that I do enjoy listening to (sometimes a lot), but I wouldn't exactly be heartbroken if I was told I could never listen to either again. I'm leaning towards Syd here, might come back to this one in a couple of days. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

I have mad respect for mr. Barrett an I tip my cap to him
but...
Tim Hecker is like a sort I musical god to me. In my mind I view him in the same top tier of musical heroes with Prince, Townes, VW and just a tier down from Dylan and TMOE. As far as I am concerned "Ravedeath, 1972", "Harmony In Ultraviolet" and "Haunt Me Haunt Me Do it Again" are just absolutely masterful. He has an amazing style and he always has a grey vision for his music and textures. I can really get lost in his music.
Tim Hecker easily. _________________ -Ryan
