I think for the most part, before around the end of the 90s, if I didn't like something I just didn't listen to it. I went through my ratings and couldn't find too much below 50 from before around 1995.
I think saying an album is total shit without giving any reason is extremely childish.
Expecially considering people here tend to hate more an album if it's popular or famous.
There are albums I can't stand because I completely disagree with the concepts staying behind, others that I find extremely mediocre because I can't see any concepts behind, but I don't find them really unlisteneable. There are a few I really find difficult to listen, but I tend to think I'm not ready for them, or I need something I don't have to appreciate them.
C'mon, Fanmail is dope. Yeah it's not as good as CrazySexyCool, and it is somewhat hamstrung by some ill-conceived, horrifically dated skits, but it's got some absolute bangers and features some of the most exciting production I've ever heard on an R'n'B album.
