only album they released, it's awesome, but definitely for anyone who hasn't heard it, their only other release (besides an archival Peel Session that was later released), the Testcard EP, is also awesome

Agreed. ( And if I considered EPs, it's also worth noting that this would exclude Vs. from my list:

Signals, Calls, And Marches by Mission Of Burma)

A few more that come to mind:

Black Monk Time by The Monks

Oar by Alexander Spence

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by Lauryn Hill

Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? by The Unicorns

PS: The argument whether The Beach Boys are (or had) an one-hit wonder is just silly! Calling The Beach Boys an one-hit wonder band is as close to music blasphemy as it gets... ๐Ÿ˜„

What's my penance? Five hail Wilsons and playing Sunflower on repeat for a day? ๐Ÿคฃ

Honestly, I would say I like the Beach Boys. I could probably make a playlist of 50+ tracks I enjoy from them, but they only have one album I go back to. *shrug*

No, no penance... ๐Ÿคฃ The point has been made before though: albums that qualify are those by groups with a single album output or groups that had one outstanding album while their rest really (REALLY) sucked...

Here are some that may qualify:

The Music Emporium by The Music Emporium

Music by Axe

Trip Thru Hell by C.A. Quintet

Suddenly One Summer by J.K. & Co.

Just Colour by The Lollipop Shoppe

Power Plant by The Golden Dawn

The Love Cycle by Forever Amber

Introspection by The End

The Plastic Cloud by The Plastic Cloud

July by July

Cauldron by Fifty Foot Hose

The Churchills by The Churchills

The Yankee Dollar by Yankee Dollar

Huh. I kind of agree with NowhereMan on this one. In my mind, a "one-hit wonder" means that they have only one album that I care about, not that the others are necessarily really bad. It's all just semantics anyway.

And...

Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star by Black Star

Although both wouldn't really count if you count Mos & Talib's solo work and Lauryn's work with the Fugees.

If I like an artist I usually like more than 2 (if they have so much) of their albums. It's a lot more common for there to be one or perhaps two bad eggs in the pile.

Any Other City by Life Without Buildings

American Football by American Football

Rites Of Spring by Rites Of Spring

Exactly this, although I do love their Today! Album.
