After a few listens, I think this is actually much more style than substance. Fortunately, the style is Dexys', so it can't be really bad, but it's not enough to make a great record.

I wanted something very obscure for 1967, just to put something completely unexpected on my '67 chart. 0 points here, and 5 ratings on RYM, so I think that may be obscure enough.
By the way, this is my first Sarah Vaughan album. Probably not the best starting point, but I've been looking for albums with low points, anyway.

That's funny. I have one sibling - a brother - and he was really into Toto, Asia & that Ewok song from Star Wars! Since he was just a year younger than me it was a BIG disappointment in retrospect. :(
It worked well enough. That was a time when I was about 12 and 13 and all my sister's friends were rebellious and 16 and 17. And this was before I discovered the twin icons that helped me break away and do my own thing - Metallica and Bob Dylan - so I did all the stuff I did to dress "punk", styled a Mohawk, listened to the same loud abrasive stuff they liked. It was a confusing and mildly fun time.
An yeah, sounds like your younger bro wasn't very punk rock. Toto is ... interesting I think. _________________ -Ryan
