Most of the time, yeah. There are a few exceptions where I enjoy the music equally on its own, like Peter McConnell's Grim Fandango OST. Part of it comes down to the fact that a lot of games and films have cues that repeat, and when every single cue is included in the album there is usually a bit of redundancy. There aren't many OSTs that flow well as an album.
