Well I've kinda honed in on about 15 or 16 albums during the year and I'm always happy to work that way as it allows the better ones outta the group a good chance to show themselves. The BANKS album is holding up very well to repeat listens and then there's the album that this track is from :
This is a realization of my dreams; like a chillwavy version of Gold Panda or a glitch hop version of the last year's Lusine; the same gorgeous electropop with female guest vocals of Lusine and chopped and syncopated layers converging and merging into potential melodies a la Bonobo and a little flavor of eastern Asian music here and there. A little uncool EDM stuff there too but the songs are just too damn perfect for that to be an issue.
Hushed, delicate vocals, great fuzzy production, enough twee, enough throwback 70s singer-songwriter stuff. Just lovely throughout.

Lemme preface this by saying it's not a bad thing at all because he's got great taste, but a lot of your taste in music is similar to my dad's. The only exception is that he can't stand Pearl Jam. Which is weird.

haha yes obviously he must have great taste. The vast majority of what I listen to now is from the last decade or so, so that's pretty surprising.
Nickel Creek is pretty much the only bluegrass/newgrass I listen to, but they're one of my favorite bands. Chris Thile is a virtuoso to say the least.
Also, I've long since moved on from my Pearl Jam phase. I'll always like them, but I haven't sat and listened to a Pearl Jam album in probably almost 2 years now. I've kicked myself for choosing this username for years now. 🧱
