Wow. I'm very saddened by the news. The Ramones have been a huge inspiration for me in more ways than just music. Really amazing group, and tommy was just a super cool dude and drummer. RIP, Tommy.
Yeah, I can't think of any band of such importance where I actually was alive and aware and into music when each member passed. Each time I got the news it was a blow. _________________ -Ryan
Wait crap I thought he was already dead, I didn't realize that he just died, I thought that you'd only just realized ... oh that's unfortunate, great band and as others have said, they all went far too young _________________
Yeah, it was sad news for sure. Without Tommy it's highly unlikely The Ramones would have existed. Even after he quit the band, he was the glue that held them together. He also wrote Blitzkrieg Bop. His importance to music history can not be overstated.
I believe everybody who was involved with Jazz at Massey Hall is dead, if that counts. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
Always sad news to hear about these kinds of losses. It's almost the same with Big Star. Of the original lineup of 4 guys, only Jody Stephens, the drummer is left. The rest have all passed away much too young.
