The Measures Taken by Machinefabriek
I still think this is great, though I can see why others don't. To me anyway, it feels in a way like an intensely visual album, even independent from the visual performance piece it accompanies. The very sudden transitions feel less like clunky attempts at song progression and more like distinct indications of moving into the aural equivalent of a new act or operatic movement of sorts, with its own distinct characterists that still exhibit overlapping motifs that make the whole thing feel like one cohesive set of musical movments making up a larger whole that feels like a multi-movment visual performance, or at least for me is very visually evocative of something very close to that, which I imagine is exactly what Machinefabriek was attempting to accomplish, to craft something that sounds like the visual piece it accompanies, even when totally totally removed from that context.
